The Muppets Take Terry Crews on a “Joy Ride” In Energetic Toyota Super Bowl Ad
|
The only things bigger than the Super Bowl itself are the attention-grabbing ads that air in between the big game. If you were one of the millions that sat down in front of the TV to watch the recent championship event, then you got the chance to see the unique collaboration between Toyota and the Muppets in the highly animated “Joy Ride” Highlander ad, featuring the one and only Terry Crews!
In the commercial, Crews, a former NFL player and current star of the hit TV show “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” is driving along the highway when he spots the broken-down Muppet bus on the side of the road and offers to help. The whole furry crew, as well as Gonzo and Animal, quickly take it upon themselves to jump into Crews’ Highlander, borrow the vehicle and take him on a wild ride. Throughout the trip, everyone breaks into song and the Muppets make a few pit stops, which include a bingo hall, winery, farm and parade. The hijinks eventually take a toll on Crews, and before you know it, he’s joining in on the fun.
